This is something I threw together to take to my grandparents’ house on Saturday. We went for lunch, to help them move furniture, and to watch the game. The game didn’t turn out well, but the food and company were great! Roll tide anyway. I’m really happy with how the dip turned out. This could easily be doubled to feed a larger crowd.
- 1 can black eyed peas
- 2 – 3 slices of bacon, cooked, drained, and crumbled
- 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese
- 2-3 cups sharped cheddar cheese
- 1/2 a package of McCormick chili seasoning
- dash of minced garlic
- 3 drops hot sauce or to taste
- dash of Lawry’s seasoning salt
1. Drain black eyed peas, pour peas in a bowl and mash with a fork. They don’t have to be completely mashed.
2. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into a baking dish. Add a handful of extra cheese on top.
3. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until cheese is bubbly. Serve with tortilla chips.
Enjoy!

mmm that sounds so good! Anything with bacon has got to be good! : )
Thank you! I think next time I may even double the bacon
