No Way, Yes Way! – Ice Cream Bread

My first thought when I saw this recipe in a cookbook was there is no way that this would work. Bread made out of ice cream? Surely not! My curiosity got the best of me. I had to try it to see if it would work. First I did a quick google search and found recipes and posts about this unconventional treat. I still needed to see to believe. After 5 minutes of mixing, 40 minutes of baking, and 1 bite, I was a believer. It works! This made a slightly sweet and very interesting bread. It was definitely interesting in a good way. I used Bluebell Great Divide ice cream which is half chocolate, half vanilla because that’s what we had. I can imagine how good other flavors of ice cream would turn out as well. I love homemade bread, and a recipe for it that is this easy and successful still blows my mind. Life changing!

Ice Cream Bread

- 2 cups of any flavor ice cream

- 1 & 1/2 cups Self Rising Flour

Mix until flour is moistened. It won’t form a traditional dough. My advice is to get the flour as moist as possible. Place mixture in a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.

Enjoy!
