When we built our house, the first thing I asked to add on was a fireplace. Fireplaces seem to make a house much more homey. Although I love our fireplace, our mantle feels a little bit neglected right now. We had our tv sitting on the mantle before we finally bought the tv stand. Decorating the mantle was just an afterthought after we moved the tv. The only thing that I actually purchased with the mantle in mind is the large frame containing my favorite wedding photo. I love this frame! All the other pieces are random things I grabbed from around the house and stuck up there. The mantle could definitely use some sprucing up.
Do you have any suggestions? I really would love to hear them!
I love the wedding photo in the misslde of your mantle. Growing up I always envisioned having my family picture above my mantle! I think you have done a lovely job decorating….in terms of suggestions….ummmm…have you ever thought of tall topiaries on the sides or maybe some tall skinny lamps or wall sconces?
Love the stonework and mantle…beautiful!! The picture is gorgeous. I would pull in some bigger objects on either side of the pic. Maybe some large topiaries? Some green would be pretty!
