With my full time job, time with family, church and spiritual activities, sewing, and other activities, life can get a bit hectic. I want our house to be a comfortable, pretty, and clean place to call home. I also don’t want to spend my whole weekend cleaning. Unfortunately, I realized a few weeks ago that that’s exactly what I was doing. Clutter, dishes, dust, and laundry piled up until it overwhelmed me and took longer on Saturdays to clean. I was frustrated, stressed, and unhappy. Something had to change!
I always rejected the idea of a daily cleaning schedule based on my wish to have my whole house clean at once. Finally I got smart and decided that spreading chores out over a week was better than a dirty house any day. I did some googling and Pinterest searching before sitting down to make up my own schedule.
I’m happy to report that this is my 3rd week using the schedule, and our house is pretty clean right now! I didn’t do as well the 2nd week. I got back on track after spending time Saturday getting caught up. This schedule works for us, but it won’t work for every family. Since there’s just the two of us, I only have to do laundry a couple of times a week. Maybe this post will give you your own ideas of how to adapt something similar for your family!
I made this little photo to print out and put on our fridge. Someone on Twitter expressed interest, so I’m making it available to whoever wants it. I’m new at the printable thing, and I do not claim to be a graphic designer at all. I’m posting this as a jpeg. Hopefully you can print it with no problems. If you’re interested, send me an email, and I can send you the original files. Feel free to use it however you need
Happy cleaning!

I love this, thank you!
Thanks for visiting, Brenda! I’m so glad someone else found this useful. Have a great holiday season!
This isn’t large enough when I want to print it out…what am I doing wrong? I saved it as a .jpg. Help?
I’m going to try to send it to you as a pdf. Hopefully that will help.
