This past weekend, I was honored to participate in the first ever writing event in my hometown. Kudzu Chronicles was held this year as a part of the annual Art on the Square. I entered the essay contest, and received 2nd place. The essay needed to contain the words Athens, kudzu, and MoonPie. This was a fun prompt, and I enjoyed writing the story I submitted.
On Friday night, Michael and I went to the Meet and Greet where Alabama authors were signing books. I also received my second place award. On Saturday, I attended two of the writing work shops. They made me even more eager to keep on writing. It was a very informative event, and I can’t wait until next year! Thank you Athens State University Center for Lifelong Learning and Spirit of Athens Art on the Square for hosting Kudzu Chronicles.

What an awesome opportunity! Congrats on the award!
