Easter 2012
First fishing day of 2012
On Saturday we all got together at my grandparents’ house for a day of food, fishing, and fun. I didn’t take my camera, so most of these photos are from my cousin Rachel. The weather was gorgeous! It was warm, but it wasn’t so warm that we couldn’t stay outside all day. I love days spent outside! The water was still a little low, and I didn’t catch a thing. It was a good day regardless! I think all the kids caught at least one bream each.
What a wonderful day
Everybody’s Doing It – 2012 Goals
This is me giving into peer pressure and jumping on the bandwagon. I told myself I wasn’t going to make any resolutions. I posted about trying a Fresh Start a while ago, and I was just going to leave it at that. Then I read somewhere that telling other people your goals is a great way to stay accountable. Then I started reading everyone else’s posts about their resolutions. Now I find myself writing a post about resolutions. Except I’m not calling them resolutions. I’m calling them goals. These are the things I’m going to actively work on this year.
1. Grow Spiritually – pray more, continue my existing personal Bible study
2. Write- write a little every day, continue this blog!
3. Wake up early – I am more productive when I work from 7-4. I feel better when I get up early.
4. Be healthy – Yes, I’m still trying to lose weight.
5. Serve God and Serve Others
6. Save money
The start of a new year is a good time to renew my commitment to these things. Of course, there are other things I would like to do this year. I want to keep reading, sewing, cooking, and working on house projects. I want to spend as much time as possible with Michael and loved ones.
There is one last goal that I have to add to this list. It’s not important in the grand scheme of things, but it is something I really want to try to do. If you know me, you will know how impossible it seems. I’m going to share it anyway for accountability’s sake.
7. Use the same planner for an entire year – Yikes!
What are your goals this year?
Dear 2012,
Dear 2012,
It’s January 1, and I have no idea yet what kind of year this will be.
No matter what you bring, I’m ready. If challenges and struggles come like they are sure to do, I’m okay with that. I know how to get past them. If you bring with you good things, I will embrace them.
You bring with you 365 days of potential. I fully intend to keep on growing this year. I will be thankful. I will love. I will serve. I will write. I can’t promise to be perfect or accomplish everything that I want to accomplish. I know I will try. I know you can’t promise even a tomorrow, but I am looking forward to see what each tomorrow we are given by Him brings.
Hello, 2012. It’s nice to meet you!
Love,
Beth
